Willow Smith has spoken out about her mum Jada Pinkett Smith having an ‘entanglement’ with August Alsina for the first time.

In July, Jada sat down with husband Will Smith to reveal the truth about her romantic relationship with August, who claimed he had ‘permission’ to date the Gotham actress.

Jada, 49, admitted to sleeping with the R&B singer during a ‘breakdown’ in her marriage with Will.

While the world has shared their opinion on the unique situation, Jada and Will’s children Willow and Jaden Smith have kept their thoughts to themselves.

But during Monday’s episode of Facebook Watch’s Red Table Talk, Willow broke her silence.

‘I want to put it on the table. I’m so proud of you,’ Willow said in support of her mother.

‘To be able to see you and Dad do that, for me, that was like, ‘OK, that’s the real deal. That’s real love.

‘Like, when you can be like, “I’m with you. I’m going to stand by you and I’m going to hold your hand”… that’s really important,’ she added.

Jada said going public with her former relationship with August, 28, was like ‘a full blast of, like, flaws, and feeling and just the total breakdown of any mask’.

During her no holds barred Red Table Talk with Will, 52, this summer, the Girls Trip actress famously described her romance with August as an ‘entanglement’ sparking a thousand memes.

‘It was a relationship. I was in a lot of pain, I was very broken. In the process of that relationship, I definitely realised that you can’t find happiness outside of yourself,’ Jada replied.

However, Will wasn’t buying that description and pushed her to admit they had something more serious.

She continued: ‘Luckily enough, you and I were also going through a process in a much different matter. I would definitely say we did everything that we could to get away from each other, only to realise that that wasn’t possible.

‘I just wanted to feel good. It had been so long since I felt good. It was really a joy to help heal somebody.’

Recalling the trouble in their marriage, Bad Boys actor Will said: ‘I was done with your ass, but marriages have that, though.

‘We decided that we were going to separate for a period of time and you go figure out a way to make yourself happy and I’ll figure out how to make myself happy.’
