It’s been eight years since the Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William exchanged vows at Westminster Abbey. The ceremony, which was watched by millions across the world on April 29 2011, drew in cheering crowds on the historic day.
Wearing a bespoke Alexander McQueen gown, Kate cemented a now long-standing relationship with the brand and designer Sarah Burton. Since then, she has worn the British label for several royal engagements.
Eight years on, and the couple, who first started dating during their studies at St Andrew’s University in Scotland, now have three children: George, Charlotte and Louis.
The official Kensington Palace Instagram account shared a photo from the day and thanked the public for their congratulatory messages: “8 years ago today – thank you for your lovely messages on The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding anniversary!”
