Will Smith isn’t just a regular dad, he’s a cool dad, as evidenced by him begging his children Willow and Jaden to ‘do something that trends’ on a recent trip.
Online fame stops for no one, you know?
The family are currently vacationing in Greece and taking some time off from their busy schedules, but that doesn’t mean Will isn’t keen to make some online magic.
Approaching two of his kids while they were chilling out back on the back of a yacht, minding their own business, with Willow, 18, reading and Jaden, 21, lying down, he wondered why on earth they weren’t making him money in that moment.
The 50-year-old Fresh Prince Of Bel Air star felt his kids were looking way too comfortable for Will’s liking, as he implored them to perform for his camera.
‘All right guys, look, we’re on vacation, all right? And you guys look really comfortable, OK?’ he said, as he approached the chilled kids on deck.
Realising this was his chance to send his social media into the stratosphere – apparently bungee jumping from a helicopter into the Grand Canyon wasn’t enough – he asked them a question you can’t really request.
‘But, we’ve gotta do something that trends, all right?’ he demanded.
In that moment, ‘DO SOMETHING THAT TRENDS’ flashed across the screen to really drill the message home.
Will added: ‘Seriously, y’all just sitting around.’
Time. Is. Money. Kids.
Jaden just wasn’t feeling his father’s request though, as the Karate Kid explained they were on vacation – the only time he wasn’t on the money making clock.
‘We came on vacation so we didn’t have to do something that trends!’ he said.
His dad just wasn’t picking it up and taking no for an answer though, as he said: ‘No! No! No! who said that, did your mother say that?!’
‘You have to do something that trends. Go jump off the…’
Giving up, Will concluded as he stormed off jokingly: ‘You know what, that’s it.’
There’s no rest for the social, in Will’s eyes, as his family take a load off on the pristine seas.
Taking his followers through the Smith Family Vacation, earlier this week he shared online: ‘Everybody’s here, on vacation. I just spanked Trey on chess. Jada just got her hair greased.’
Turning the camera on his 26-year-old son Trey and wife Jada, 47, he got a little punny as he mused: ‘Oh, you putting grease in Greece!’
If we didn’t know Will was a dad, that joke really confirmed our inkling.
In the same video, Will asked Jaden – who has just joined the family after performing in Miami – what is ideal vacation was.
He nonchalantly said: ‘I just wanted to be as comfortable and functional as possible.’
That’s not very trendy, mate.
