Will Rihanna play Poison Ivy opposite Robert Pattinson’s Batman? Here’s what she said

Now that Robert Pattinson has been confirmed as Batman, and production is due to begin next year ahead of its 2021 release, rumours over who will join the British actor in the blockbuster have already started to emerge.

The most recent individual to be linked with a part as Poison Ivy in The Batman is Rihanna, who as well as being one of the most popular performers and singers in the world has appeared in Battleship, Valerian And The City Of A Thousand Planets and Ocean’s 8.

This speculation went into overdrive when she recently made reference to the Batmobile while promoting a black leather rubber boot from her clothing company on Instagram.

Apparently that’s all it takes to start a movie rumour nowadays, and after being asked by Entertainment Tonight whether this was her way of teasing her involvement in The Batman as either Catwoman or Poison Ivy she immediately laughed off the speculation.

“Oh that?! Really? That!? Are you serious?. No that has nothing to do with Poison Ivy.”

However, Rihanna then confessed that she does love Batman, before revealing that she was inspired to dye her hair because of a certain villain.

“That [post] has to do a lot with Batman [because] I have separate obsessions,” Rihanna continued. “I have bigger obsession with Poison Ivy, I’m just being honest. And yeah, I died my hair red because of Uma Thurman in the original.”

But would Rihanna be interested in playing Posion Ivy in a future Batman film? Absolutely.

“You know what, they didn’t call me yet. But if they did, I would love to go in and try out because Poison Ivy is one of my obsessions in life,” she shared. “I did it for Halloween one year, I mean come on!”

Fingers crossed we’ll get to see her do just that when The Batman is released on June 25, 2021.
