Will Bayley’s Strictly Come Dancing co-stars have shared their support after the Paralympian was forced to pull out of the show tonight, after a horrific leg injury in rehearsals left him unable to perform.

The Paralympian admitted he was ‘gutted’ to pull out, after he was given a bye through to next week’s competition after jumping off a table and collapsing on his knee.

Viewers saw brief footage of the star coiled over in pain to explain his absence, with his future on the show in doubt.

That was confirmed tonight he would not be returning as Strictly tweeted the sad news along with a statement.

Not long after, as he prepared to appear on It Takes Two alongside pro partner Janette Manrara, the hosts of Strictly’s spin-off show, Zoe Ball and Rylan Clark-Neal were the first to pay tribute to the stars as they took to Twitter.

Zoe tweeted: ‘All the love to @WillBayleytt & @JManrara,’ along with two love hearts.

Her co-host Rylan chimed in: ‘Soooo gutted for @WillBayleytt you’re amazing mate and so sad you’ve had to leave. Wishing you a speedy recovery. And to lovely @JManrara you’re simply amazing! Xxx We’re gonna miss you xxxx.’

Soon after the messages flooded in from Will’s fellow contestants and Janette’s professional colleagues.

Michelle Visage wrote: ‘WE LOOOOOOOVE YOU @WillBayleytt’, as Kevin Clifton added: ‘Sending all my love to an absolute hero and lovely guy.’

YouTuber Saffron Barker, who is partnered with AJ Pritchard wrote: ‘Absolutely completely gutted for @WillBayleytt & @JManrara.

‘Two of the most genuine and lovely people I’ve ever met! Such an amazing team with so much potential. I will truly miss you so much Will but so glad to have found a friend in you. Get well soon.’

Dancer Aljaz Skorjanec, who is a pro on the show and is married to Janette said he was ‘gutted’ to see Will have to pull out.

‘Absolutely gutted that @WillBayleytt and my @JManrara had to pull out of @bbcstrictly,’ he wrote.

‘You had so much more to give Mr.. Hope we see each other on the dancefloor again soon. I wish you a quick recovery.

He added: ‘And my wife… I love you and always here for you #keepdancing.’

As they shared their wishes and heartache, Will broke his social media silence as he said: ‘I love you guys,’ alongside BBC’s statement.
