Why Zinedine Zidane now faces a huge problem with Gareth Bale staying at Real Madrid

That’s according to former Arsenal player Stewart Robson.

Gareth Bale looks set to stay at Real Madrid next season after his potential move to Jiangsu Suning was cancelled.

The Welshman seemed to be in line for a sensational exit from the Spanish giants after falling out with Zidane.

Madrid boss Zidane told reporters that he wanted the 30-year-old to leave as soon as possible.

He was subsequently expected to ditch La Liga for the Chinese Super League, signing the most lucrative contract in football history.

The deal offered up by Suning reportedly amounted to £1million-per-week, the largest in world sports.

However, with the deal looking imminent, Madrid pulled the plug, after the board blocked the move.

This leaves Bale stuck in Madrid, with his first team prospects looking unlikely.

And Robson explained that it will be difficult for the winger to go back to Madrid after the move failed to materialise, because he knows the manager doesn’t want him.

“I’ve been in this situation before,” he said on ESPN FC.

“As a coach, we’ve had players before where we’ve told them they’re not going to be in the team, they’ve gone for medicals and failed.

“They’ve now got to be brought back into the squad.

“They know that we don’t like them, they’re going around the other players moaning and groaning.

”It’s a difficult situation where you’ve got players there who you’ve told that you don’t want.”

Bale was always reluctant to leave Madrid, as he is currently on a contract worth £650,000-per-week.
