Why was Tyler, The Creator banned from the UK?

It comes after Theresa used anti-terrorism legislation to forbid Tyler from entering the UK in 2015 when he was supposed to perform at Reading and Leeds festival.

Theresa had claimed his music ‘encourages violence and intolerance of homosexuality’ and ‘fosters hatred with views that seek to provoke others to terrorist acts’.

He was stopped at customs when he arrived in the UK and was taken to a detention room and shown lyrics from his first two albums.

Tyler celebrated Theresa’s resignation as Prime Minister in 2019 by taking to Twitter to say: ‘Theresa gone, im back’ [sic].

That same year, Tyler returned to the UK for the first time in four years.
