Why 'Rich Girl Face' is the cosmetic surgery trend everyone is asking for right now

We’ve all seen it on our Instagram feeds. Lips puffed into an impossibly full pout, line-free eyes and smooth, shiny skin that looks too good to be the work of a budget face mask. Plastic surgery is experiencing a boom, and for many women in the UK, it’s simply part and part of their beauty routine. Here at GLAMOUR, we believe getting cosmetic treatments is completely your choice – just make sure you’re informed.

Unlike the quest for subtle plastic tweaks that was the preserve of Noughties celebrities, the next generation of young women are fulling owning their cosmetic treatments, and actually want their ‘work’ to be noticeable, according to Harley Street plastic surgeon, Dr Dirk Kremer.

After noticing a dramatic increase in female patients aged 20-29 requesting face-shaping cosmetic procedures such as derma fillers, chemical peels and Botox injections, Dr Kremer coined the term ‘rich girl face’, a rising phenomenon where young women exhibit their enhancements with pride on social media.

Driven by the visibility of cosmetically-enhanced reality TV stars on shows such as Made in Chelsea and Real Housewives, as well as the never-ending pursuit for the perfect selfie on social media, young women are now taking to Instagram to showcase their regular use of cosmetic treatments.

“The puffed and plumped ‘rich face’ aesthetic is practically the new Louis Vuitton handbag in certain circles – an instant, recognisable marker of wealth and status,” explains Dr Kremer.

“Unlike generations before them, this new class of cosmetic injectee doesn’t hide its enhancements in shame. Rather, its plumped-up lips and puffer-fish cheeks are often a source of pride.”

Getting the ‘rich girl face’ doesn’t come cheap, though. According to Dr Kremer, anti-wrinkle injections cost upwards of £180, per facial area, while lip and cheek fillers like Restylane and Juvederm ring in at about £200 per syringe, and must be retouched every 6-12 months.

So what treatments are trending? Here’s your ‘rich girl face’ need-to-know, if you’re interested.

Emsculpt

Emsculpt is the only device in the world that can build muscle and burn fat simultaneously. It allows the patient to achieve the equivalent of 20,000 squats or sit-ups in a half-an-hour treatment, and with a protocol of four treatments over two weeks can reveal a set of abs in that time. It’s completely pain-free, no downtime and can be used on patients of all shapes and sizes.

Biodermogensi

Biodermogensi is the first treatment in the UK to treat stretch marks effectively. It works to raise the stretch mark to the same level as the skin for it to then tan naturally, and restores the cells to their original state before the damage of the stretch mark took place. It has a 95% success rate with absolutely no side effects, and can be used on all skin tones.

Emsella

Emsella is a non-invasive treatment which resembles a chair and treats leakage in young women after childbirth or women after the menopause. Patients sit on the chair for 30 minutes, fully dressed, while the machine uses HIFEM technology to treat the pelvic floor and therefore cure incontinence.

Ultra Femme 360

Ultra Femme 360 is a safe and effective non-surgical alternative to vaginoplasty and labiaplasty procedures. Ultra Femme provides complete vaginal rejuvenation including labial remodeling (labia reduction) and vaginal tightening with a single device. It stimulates collagen production and enhances blood flow.

Unison

Unison is a device that works by using monopolar radio frequency and shock waves simultaneously to increase blood supply, resulting in better lymphatic drainage, an increase in skin elasticity and elimination of fat cells.
