Pogba is continuing his rehab away from the club in Dubai, while top scorer Rashford remains sidelined with a stress fracture but Solskjaer did not give a reason for Greenwood’s absence.
Greenwood’s absence may open the door for new signing Ighalo to make his first start for the club having made his debut off the bench in Monday’s 2-0 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Solskjaer has offered the Nigerian striker hope that he can extend his United stay beyond the current season if he impresses.
“It’s a loan, but when you’re in the door, and if you impress, it gives you a chance. That’s exactly the same for everyone who signs,” Solskjaer said.
