PEAKY Blinders returns to the BBC this month for its fifth edition of the gritty drama series, starring Cillian Murphy.
Naturally, fans of the show are freaking out, as it is just a matter of weeks before the new season premieres! Here’s all you need to know about the programme…
When is season five coming to BBC1?
The fifth season of Peaky Blinders will air at 9pm on BBC One on Sunday, August 25, 2019.
On July 18, Peaky Blinders held a premiere for its upcoming series at Birmingham Town Hall, with stars such as Helen McCory and Sophie Rundle gracing the red carpet to celebrate the occasion.
Harry Kirton, Finn Cole, Packy Lee and Charlene McKenna were also in attendance while the main man himself, Cillian Murphy, was nowhere in sight.
Tommy Shelby will be heading to Westminster as a member of parliament in season five, so fans shouldn’t wonder whether his absence had anything to do with the chance that he wasn’t going to reprise his role again – that’s definitely false.
A trailer for the upcoming series was recently released and teases a plethora of deaths, as a explosion takes place, among other catastrophes.
In the action-packed promo Tommy is seen grasping the hand of his daughter Ruby as they stand over a grave.
Series four of the BBC One hit aired in December 2017 and the fifth season of the drama was confirmed in early 2019.
