Whoopi Goldberg has been slammed for ‘body-shaming’ Mariah Carey after she commented on the singer’s figure.

The actress, 63, was discussing with Jerry O’Connell what it was like to play the singer’s boyfriend in her Heartbreaker music video in 1999, during his appearance on The View on Thursday.

As panellist Sunny Hostin marvelled at the clip being ’20 years ago,’ Whoopi murmured, ’20 bodies ago’.

Her quick comment has sparked furious backlash from Mariah fans, who slammed the comedian for ‘reducing’ the singer ‘down to her body size’.

One fan vented: ‘20 bodies ago? you, yourself have changed body types MANY times. What’s this about?

‘You’re always jumping on people to be more positive and polite and you come up in here with this? What’s got you mad today?’

Another added: ‘We ain’t body shaming Mariah. She’s a biracial singer-songwriter who worked hard to be one of the best selling female artist. She not gonna be reduced down to her body size.’

‘Have more respect. Youre NOT a feminist when you point at another woman’s body,’ a third viewer fumed.

Metro.co.uk has contacted a rep for Whoopi for comment.

Whoopi previously left Bella Thorne in tears after criticising the actress for releasing her own nude photos.

The 21-year-old decided to ‘take the power back’ by releasing her own topless photos on social media after being threatened by a hacker.

Addressing Bella’s ordeal, Whoopi said on The View in June: ‘You don’t do that. Listen… when they’re hacking you, they’re hacking all of your stuff…whether its one picture or a million pictures.

‘Once you take that picture it goes into the cloud and it’s available to any hacker that wants it – and if you don’t know that in 2019 then this is an issue.

‘I’m sorry you don’t get to do that. You cannot be surprised that someone hacks you.’
