Who will be crowned as this year's Scottish SME Award winners?

Even the largest of companies have to come from small beginnings – and that’s why our Scottish SME Awards is one of the most important nights of the year.

Everyone wants to know who the finalists are because they could become big players of the future.

We have seven categories and you can nominate either your own or someone else’s business for these three, with winners to be chosen by a panel of experts:

  • SME Employer of the Year
  • Youth Initiative Award
  • Sprint 100 Fastest growing Small Business

The rest of the categories are selected from our SME300 list – firms with a turnover of £8-20 million.

  • Fastest-growing SME300 Company, sponsored by LendingCrowd
  • SME300 Highest Climber
  • Best SME300 Newcomer, sponsored by SSE
  • Number one Company in the SME300

Small to medium-sized enterprises are at the heart of innovation in business and last year we crowned shining examples, some of them only five years old. The youngest was Energylinx for Business, winner of the Sprint100 Fastest Growing Small Business prize.

The Alloa firm was born in the Wee County of Clackmannanshire but has grown into the largest specialist domestic energy comparison website in the UK, with turnover growth of just under 272% in three years.

The awards night is on Wednesday 30th October at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Glasgow Central. The deadline for nominations is Friday 20th September and you can find out more and nominate by clicking here .
