The Great British Bake Off is returning tonight – but there’ll be an ingredient missing from the new series.
Sandi Toksvig quit the series in January this year, saying she wanted to focus her attention on other projects.
She said of her decision: ‘When stepping down from a job it is quite common for people to say they are doing so in order to spend more time with their family. Unusually I am departing from the Great British Bake Off so I can spend more time with my other work. As my waistline will testify, Bake Off is an all-consuming show.’
Sandi continues to host QI, as well as writing a new book, due to be released on November 12, 2020.
But is the star married, and does she have any children?
Who is Sandi Toksvig married to?
In 2007, Sandi, 62, and partner Debbie Toksvig, a psychotherapist, entered into a civil partnership.
The couple later renewed their vows on March 29, 2014 – the day that same-sex marriage was legalised in England and Wales.
The couple live in a houseboat in Wandsworth, South West London.
Before her marriage to Debbie, Sandi was in a 15-year relationship with Peta Stewart.
They separated in 1997, but remain close today.
Sandi opened up about outside influences impacting her relationship, opening up about why she revealed her sexuality instead of being ‘outed.’
She said to The Telegraph: ‘I would rather keep my private life to myself. But I didn’t want to live in fear.’
Do they have any children?
Sandi has three children with her ex, Peta Stewart.
Sandi’s three kids – Debbie’s step-children – are two daughters, Jesse, 32, and Megan, 30, and a son, Theo, 26.
The children were carried by Peta, and the pair used the sperm of a close family friend.
Daughter Jesse is a photographer, Theo an actor and Megan’s occupation is unknown.
