Who is Noah Solskjaer? Kristiansund starlet in line to face dad's Man Utd team

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s son Noah is in line to make his first-team debut against Manchester United.

The 19-year-old was included in the Kristiansund squad that will face his father’s side in a friendly in Oslo.

Noah Solskjaer has progressed through the junior ranks and now trains with the senior team.

Kristiansund play in the Norwegian top flight and he and several other young players have been rewarded with call-ups for the prestigious friendly.

United boss Solskjaer, who was born in Kristiansund, may be known for being a prolific striker but his son operates in a different part of the pitch.

“While his dad was a deadly effective player the closer he got to the box, Noah is more the kind of player to create attacks,” Kristiansund coach Christian Michelsen said.

“He has a lot of skills and he has football in him.

“Noah has gone to a good school. He and several of these youngsters have been with us for a while.

“We knew they were good football players, but what is fun is that we see that they are taking the level more and more.

“It’s great for them and fun for us to see them grow well.”

Noah, who says it would be nice to feature in the friendly, revealed that he models his game after another United legend.

“I have a small role model in Michael Carrick,” he said.

“In the beginning I started up front, but the longer it has gone on I have gone further back in the side.

“I’m now more of a number six in midfield than a number 10.

“It would be nice to get in the game. After seeing such big games, I’ve got used to it.”
