The semi-semi final of The Apprentice 2019 has given us the finalists for this years season.

Just two candidates remain out of the final five, as Wednesday night’s episode saw a triple elimination.

During the course of the semi-final, the final five contestants had to face the scrutiny of Lord Sugar’s most trusted advisors and were asked difficult questions about their business plans in the battle to back them against the onslaught of the business bigwigs.

In the end, Lord Sugar could only take two contestants to the final…

Ahead of her appearance on the show, Scarlett said she considered herself a ‘very good problem solver’ but admitted she sometimes struggles to accept help from others.

Who left The Apprentice last night?

The candidates to be fired from the BBC series included Lottie Lion, Lewis Ellis and Pamela Laird.

Fired candidates usually participate in the You’re Fired spin-off show directly after The Apprentice airs, however TV bosses banned Lottie from participating in any further activity relating to The Apprentice after she was fired on Wednesday night.

A spokesperson for The Apprentice said: ‘Following an inquiry by the production company into the unacceptable comments made by Lottie on a private messenger service, she was informed that she would not be invited to participate on You’re Fired.’

They added: ‘The production company have decided that Lottie will not be invited to any further activity relating to The Apprentice.’

The 19-year-old librarian has proven to be a controversial contestant this year, having been investigated by the BBC following complaints after she told rival Lubna Farhan – whose parents are from Pakistan – to ‘shut up Gandhi’ and threatened to ‘f***ing knock her out’ in a string of messages shared on the 2019 cast’s group chat.

Last week, Lottie addressed how the accusations of racism affected her by saying: ‘I have struggled for quite a long time.

‘When it came out and Lubna decided to villainise me it had such a huge impact on me.

‘I was prescribed anti-anxiety and antidepressant medication, which I have been on in the past.’

Meanwhile Lubna has branded Lottie an ‘attention seeker’.

The Apprentice final is on Wednesday 18 December on BBC One at 9pm.
