AN ex-Tory MP who was falsely accused of child murder walked out of an interview with the BBC’s Naga Munchetty.
But who is Harvey Proctor, what were the false claims made against him and why did he storm out of the interview?

Who is Harvey Proctor?
Kieth Harvey Proctor is a former conservative MP.
He represented Basildon from 1970 to 1983 and Billericay from 1983 to 1987.
His career was ended following several child abuse claims which transpired to be false.
What were the false claims made against him?
Carl Beech, 51 – who has since been jailed for the false accusations – said Proctor raped and stabbed a boy.
Proctor strongly denied the false claims throughout, dubbing the accuser a “fantasist.”
Beech told a court he and the lad were tied up by the Tory and another man at a London house.
He alleged that Mr Proctor stabbed the boy in the arm, chest and leg before the men left.
Beech said: “I tried to untie him, but I couldn’t. There was a lot of blood.”
When they returned he begged in vain for Mr Proctor to stop raping the boy, the court heard.
Collingwood Thompson QC, defending, asked: “While that was happening, what were you doing?”
Beech replied: “Begging for him to stop and he kept saying sorry, but they didn’t listen.”
He claimed he held hands with the other boy while they were both being raped.
Beech alleged the boy was strangled by Mr Proctor, who has said his claims are the “ravings of a fantasist”.

Why did he storm out of the BBC interview with Naga Munchetty?
Proctor removed his earpiece and walked out of an interview with the BBC’s Naga Munchetty on October 5.
Speaking via video link, he told Naga to invite Met Commissioner Cressida Dick to come on the programme with him so they can debate the Met’s handling of the case.
He said: “You’ve just said that the IOPC has found no evidence of Cressida Dick lying. Hold on the IOPC didn’t interview Cressida Dick they didn’t know that she was involved.
“In fact Sir Richard Henriques didn’t know that she was involved.
“She wasn’t interviewed by Sir Richard Henriques. Invite Cressida Dick onto the programme and invite me onto the programme too and let’s have a debate about it.”
As he uttered, “she won’t come”, Naga said at the same time: “I want to get to how this has impacted you but I need to do my job as well and…”
Mr Proctor cut in adding: “I respect your work very much, but you must not invite people onto your programme and then not allow them to speak.”
“I am allowing you to speak and I will allow you to speak but I also need to give a right of reply rather than letting you say things that are potentially incorrect or when people don’t have a right to reply,” Naga insisted.
But Mr Proctor said over her: “You are now but you weren’t before.”
Seconds later he told her: “I’m sorry I’m not having this”, while taking his earpiece out and leaving his seat.
