Who is American Idol’s Mike Parker?

AMERICAN Idol contestant Mike Parker made it to the top 20 on April 17, 2022.

Parker was labeled as a force to be reckoned with by judge Luke Bryan who said he is a “superstar.”

Who is Mike Parker?

Mike Parker is among one of 20 hopefuls to make it to the top 14 on American Idol.

The singer was born in Gainsville, Virginia, and attended Fauquier High School.

According to Hollywood Life Parker was a part of his school’s musicals growing up.

Prior to his time on American Idol Parker auditioned for The Voice.

On The Voice, he made it to Jennifer Hudson’s team after his third try during season 15.

After passing the battle round Parker was eliminated during the knockout round.

Aside from his singing passion, Mike also played football in high school as a wide receiver and defensive back.

In August 2021 Parker released his single titled Still Stingy.

What did country star Jimmie Allen say about Mike Parker’s performance?

On the April 17, 2022, episode of American Idol Parker performed Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd’s song Chasing After You.

A week prior he sang Best Shot by Jimmie Allen.

Parker wasn’t aware that Allen had been brought to the set of the show to guest mentor some of the singers.

“I’ve watched a lot of your interviews and how you perceived country music yourself,” Parker told Allen.

Parker added that Allen has inspired him to pursue country music.

Allen responded emotionally to Parker saying “That song … I was the first Black country artist with a No. 1 debut single. To have you singing that song now is so dope.”

“My mom used to always tell me, ‘You’re not just doing this for you.’ Hearing you telling me now how I’m your inspiration reminds me of my purpose,” Allen added.
