Which artists have cancelled gigs due to Coronavirus?

Coronavirus is officially a worldwide
pandemic
, so it’s not surprising that plenty of big events are being
cancelled.

Coachella,
California’s cool, celeb-endorsed festival, has
been delayed
, along with most celebrities cancelling the Asian legs of
their tour. Madonna was forced
to end
her Madame X tour early
as France banned public events with crowds exceeding
1000 people and the Premier League is just one of many sports
fixtures delayed or cancelled
.

But what
about UK tours and gigs scheduled for the next couple of months? Here’s who have
cancelled or rescheduled so far…

Gigs cancelled or rescheduled

Avril
Lavigne

The
Canadian pop star was scheduled to tour the UK for the first time in 9 years
with her Head Above Water tour dates between April 1 and April 6.

Rescheduled
dates haven’t been announced yet but the sk8r boi singer announced the news on
her social media.

The Who

The legendary
rockers were set to play at SSE Wembley Arena as part of an 11-date UK tour in
April.

There hasn’t
been news of rescheduled dates yet.

RuPaul’s
Drag Race: Werq the World 2020

For 2020, RuPaul’s queens on Werq the World were
set to light up the SSE Wembley Arena on May 15.

Instead, they’re sashaying away to slay another day, with news of a rescheduled date yet to be confirmed.

K Pop’s
Stray Kids and ATEEZ

Two of
K-Pop’s biggest bands have had to cancel dates at Wembley Arena. New dates haven’t
been announced yet.

Country
to Country

The biggest
event for UK country fans, the festival postponed their London, Dublin and Glasgow
dates.

No new date has been announced yet, but in a statement to fans, the event informed them to keep hold of their tickets.

Radio One’s
Big Weekend

Set to take
place in Dundee this year, with
Harry
Styles
headlining, the event was officially
cancelled earlier this week
.

In a statement, festival bosses said: ‘After careful consideration we have come to the decision that Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2020 will not go ahead… it is important that we prioritise the health and safety of all those involved.’

Glastonbury
appears to be going ahead, correct at time of writing, with the festival
reportedly
set to lose £100 million if it doesn’t go ahead.

Arts and theatre cancellations or delays

Andrew Lloyd
Webber’s Cinderella

Carrie Hope Fletcher stars in Lord Webber’s hotly anticipated new musical, but the debut has been pushed back to October.

It was
originally set to begin in August.

Films delayed by Coronavirus

Fans will have to wait a while to catch the reimagined Mulan (Pictures: Disney)

Mulan

Disney’s live action retelling of Mulan is another casualty of Coronavirus, with its release date postponed while the situation is monitored.

A Quiet
Place II

The much-anticipated sequel to the horror film will have fans waiting even longer in suspense, as the release date has been pushed back indefinitely.

No Time to Die

Bond’s licence to thrill has been temporarily revoked, as studio bosses delayed the 25th outing of 007 until November.

Other movies affected include F9, the latest in the Fast and Furious saga and Nicole Kidman and Meryl Streep’s The Prom, which has halted filming.
