Where to get a CBD beauty treatment in London

There can be no doubt that CBD is the buzzword of 2019. You can now find it in croissants, coffees and supplements and, over the past year or so, the ingredient has also exploded onto the skincare market. 

For good reason, too, studies have shown that CBD, or cannabinoid, has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant powers, and according to one study, it may event regulate sebum production, which could make it suitable for blemish-prone skin. 

A number of London’s wellness hubs have now introduced CBD spa treatments to their menus, including slumber-inducing CBD massages, calming pedis and soothing facials.

Young LDN, Notting Hill

Notting Hill-based skincare clinic and peel bar Young LDN offers a signature CBD facial, which begins with a CBD-infused coffee and uses products from specialist CBD brands Grön and Medterra from the US.

It features a facial massage with CBD oil, followed by a rejuvenating clay mask which contains organic hemp extract, cucumber, and seaweed to soothe the skin and help reduce redness, while kaolin and sea clay both restore moisture to dry skin and absorb excess oil in trouble areas.

The Drug.Store, Marylebone

After a successful pop up on the Kings Road earlier this year, The Drug.Store opened its first permanent bricks and mortar store in Marylebone in July where it sells a curated edit of goods, from mood lifting mints to topical balms, salves and oils. With its slick white interiors, tasteful artwork adorned on the walls and vases of flowers, this really couldn’t be further from anything you’ve associated with weed paraphernalia shops, it resembles more of an art gallery.

Hugg x Threads, Kensington

CBD self-care brand The Hugg has teamed up with Kensington beauty salon Threads & Co to offer a menu of CBD-infused spa treatments from September 12, including a manicure, facial, pedicure and massage using products from the brand, such as the CBD-infused bath salts, coffee scrub and body oils.

Cowshed has introduced two CBD treatments to its UK spas: a facial and massage. The CBD facial is an anti-inflammatory version of the salon’s signature facial and using MariPharm’s CBD-infused cream it aims to help soothe irritated, inflamed skin. The massage, meanwhile, uses MariPharm’s essential oil to enhance the de-stressing effect of Cowshed’s signature “Moody massage” using heated Thai compressors which help to relax muscles.

The Fulham blow dry bar offers a CBD Detox Facial (£90/1 hour) as well as a CBD Detox Microdermabrasion Facial (£150/1 hour). Both include a 20 minute detoxing lymphatic drainage facial massage using Kannaway CBD Oil (1000mg CBD), serum and moisturiser.

The Harley Street Skin Clinic offers a CBD facial geared towards those with congested skin or in need of a rehydration boost, which it says is popular among its celebrity clientele, including Abbey Clancy, Vanessa White and Game of Thrones star Christian Vit.

The treatment also uses MariPharm’s Mari Drops which are put first placed under the tongue, followed by an indulgent face mask and herb-infused massage aimed at releasing toxins.
