Where Man Utd target Moussa Dembele wants to play next year revealed as Lyon beat Arsenal

Dembele impressed in Lyon’s 2-1 win over Arsenal in the Emirates Cup on Sunday, scoring both goals after coming on as a second half substitute.

The Frenchman first equalised with a smart near-post header after Memphis Depay’s pinpoint cross into the box, before going on to slot past Bernd Leno in the 75th minute.

Dembele capitalised on some slack Shkodran Mustafi defending as Lyon clinched some pre-season silverware.

The 23-year-old’s performances for the French outfit are said to have attracted interest from Manchester United, who will be in the market for an attacking player this summer, should Romelu Lukaku leave.

But after the clash with Arsenal, Dembele seemingly rubbished rumours that he could be off to United by revealing his wish to have a “great” season with Lyon next year.

“The most important thing is that we won. I want to be an undisputed starter this season,” he said.

“I’m going to have perform well consistently. I want to have a great season with Lyon.”

Dembele moved to Lyon after forcing his way out of Celtic last summer.

Lukaku could yet leave Old Trafford, with Juventus and Inter Milan interested in the Belgian.

Inter will have to cough up the full £75m that United paid Everton for him if they want to bring him to the San Siro next season.

Juve, however, can offer rising starlet Paulo Dybala as a makeweight.

Lukaku’s international manager Roberto Martinez believes it’s imperative that the striker leaves United for the good of his career.

“It is clear that he has to leave Manchester United,” Martinez told HLN.

“It would be a good thing for both parties. It is now important that Romelu finds the right club.”

Lukaku, 26, wants to leave United but has conducted himself in a professional manner this summer, having attended all of the club’s pre-season outings despite his inability to play because of an injury.
