While Joe Wicks continues to transform the world of online workouts, it seems today his PE With Joe series took a hit with less viewers tuning in at 9am.

Last week Joe’s brilliant YouTube series peaked with nearly 1million people tuning in live to workout together, as his clips go around the world.

The popular fitness influencer and personal trainer has dutifully taken on the role of the country’s PE teacher, drawing in more than 15m viewers in his first week of morning exercise sessions which he began following the closure of the UK’s schools under coronavirus lockdown.

However today Joe revealed his livestream audience was 586,000 viewers – which is nothing to sneeze at – but clearly trailing behind his stats of last week.

It seems people may have been a little lethargic and less keen to get up and at them for a morning workout.

It’s clearly the case, with over 1.3m people already streaming the 30 minute workout after Joe uploaded it to YouTube – with many others heading to social media to let The Body Coach know they couldn’t tune in live but will watch it later on.

We can hardly expect Joe to find much trouble with the fewer live views – it is Monday after all.

The father-of-two has been beside himself with glee at the popularity of his workouts, insisting he will keep them on YouTube – as opposed to taking them to a TV network – to make sure they’re accessible to everyone in the world.

With stats that Joe has been enjoying, naturally The Body Coach has been inundated with offers to bring the show to TV, with Channel 4 reportedly looking to sign the 33-year-old up after working with him in the past.

However, appearing on BBC Radio 2, Joe admitted that he’d rather keep the show open to everyone, saying: ‘I have decided I want to stay on YouTube because I want it to have a global reach.

‘I don’t want to be exclusive to one place. I have been blown away by the response.’

While the fitness entrepreneur is said to be worth more than £14m, Joe also revealed all ad revenue from the videos will go to NHS.

‘Words can’t express how happy and proud I have felt every day this week as the nations P.E. teacher [sic],’ he wrote on Instagram.

‘I’ve been overwhelmed with the response and the support it’s had from everyone. ‘As a result of so many people viewing the #PEWithJoe workouts on YouTube the advertising revenue generated has been unlike anything I’ve seen or experienced on my channel before.’

The father-of-two continued: ‘So I’ve decided that as long as I’m the nations P.E. teacher, every single penny of the money generated on these videos is going to the place where we need it the most right now.’
