Where can I still go on holiday? Full list of destinations where you won’t quarantine on arrival or in the UK


MORE countries have opened to Brits recently, with the Canary Islands the latest to be removed from the quarantine list.

There are now 11 countries left which have no quarantine rules, either on arrival or back in the UK for British travellers.

Since July, Spain, France, parts of Portugal and Greece, Croatia, Malta and the Netherlands have all been added to the quarantine list, among others.

Thankfully, there are still a number of destinations you can travel to without having to spend two weeks in quarantine.

All of the Greek islands have been removed from the quarantine list, including Mykonos last week, along with the Maldives and the Canary Islands in Spain.

Travel restrictions can change at the last minute, it is worth nothing, with some destinations possibly introducing new measures for British arrivals at short notice.

Some also require tests before flying or on arrival, but these will not include a self-isolation period if testing negative.

Here is what you need to know about travelling to the quarantine-free countries.

Antigua

While there are no quarantine restrictions, Brits must have a negative coronavirus test taken within seven days of arrival to be allowed to enter the Antigua.

Cuba

You can only visit Cuba as a British tourist if travelling on charter flights to the following destinations: Cayo Coco, Cayo Cruz or Cayo Guillermo (served by Jardines del Rey airport); Cayo Santa Maria (flying into Santa Clara airport), or Cayo Largo del Sur. You can also travel to Varadero.

Cyprus

While there are no quarantine restrictions, Brits must have a negative coronavirus test taken no more than 72 hours beforehand to be allowed to enter Cyprus.

These cannot be done on the NHS, with private tests costing between £100 and £200 per person.

Gibraltar

There are no entry restrictions for Gibraltar.

Greece

Anyone travelling to mainland Greece and the islands no longer have to quarantine.

You will have to fill in a Passenger Locator Form before travelling, and anyone without the relevant QR code faces €500 fines or being turned away from the border.

The islands have been removed in stages from the quarantine list – Mykonos was the latest island to be added to the air bridge list.

Grenada

While there are no quarantine restrictions, Brits must have a negative coronavirus test taken within seven days of arrival to be allowed to enter the Grenada.

You must also stay in Covid-19 certified property and may only leave the accommodation on excursions organised by the hotel.

If you want to go beyond the hotel grounds, on the fourth day you may take a free PCR test and once that is returned negative, you are free to visit approved experiences and restaurants.

The Maldives

While there are no quarantine restrictions, Brits must have a negative coronavirus test taken no more than 96 hours beforehand to be allowed to enter the Maldives.

You must also fill in a Traveller Health Declaration form 24 hours before arrival.

Portugal (Azores and Madeira only)

Mainland Portugal is currently on the UK’s quarantine list, although the islands of the Azores and Madeira are not.

While they do not enforce quarantines, they have their own entry requirements, including a negative coronavirus test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival.

St Lucia

While there are no quarantine restrictions, Brits must have a negative coronavirus test taken within seven days of arrival to be allowed to enter the St Lucia.

You must also stay in Covid-19 certified property and may only leave the accommodation on excursions organised by the hotel.

Sweden

There are no entry restrictions for Sweden.

Some countries, to avoid quarantine restrictions, require negative coronavirus tests upon entry instead.
