International travel is possible again and the Government has split countries into three categories – green, amber and red. The UK Government is advising against travel to every country that is not on the green list.

Recreational international trips such as holidays abroad aren’t illegal in England and there are no fines or penalties for those who do travel to red or amber list countries.

However, Prime Minister Boris Johnson has said that Brits shouldn’t be holidaying in amber or red countries.

He said during Prime Minister’s Questions on May 19: “It is very, very clear – you should not be going to an amber list country except for some extreme circumstance, such as the serious illness of a family member.

“You should not be going to an amber list country on holiday.”

You should not be travelling to red list countries at all.
