Following the enormous success of the Beatrix Potter 50p coins, the Royal Mint have collaborated with Disney to created a series of limited edition Winnie the Pooh coins.

The coins depict the original and well-recognised illustrations by E.H. Shepard of British writer A.A. Milne’s iconic characters.

The first 50p coin features Winnie the Pooh bear, to be later followed by a Christopher Robin 50p, and a Piglet 50p.

Here is what we know about the new coins.

When will the new Winnie the Pooh 50p coin be released?

The new limited edition 50p Winnie the Pooh coins are released on Wednesday, September 23.

There will be nine different coins in total spanning 2020, 2021, and 2022 (Picture: Geoff Caddick/PA Wire)

The first 50p coin features the world-famous Winnie the Pooh bear eating from a jar of honey (his favourite snack).

The Winnie the Pooh Coin Collection will see nine new coins in total; three each year for 2020, 2021 and 2022.

How can you get a Winnie the Pooh 50p coin?

According to Coin Hunter, The Winnie the Pooh 50p is available to buy from The Royal Mint, The Westminster Collection, Change Checker eBay store and The Koin Club on Amazon.

The site says that the 50p Winnie the Pooh coin is likely to fetch just £4.50 if sold on eBay, as that’s the price they’re expected to be sold for without official packaging on coin website Westminster Collection.

Royal Mint is expected to sell brilliant uncirculated versions of the coins for a £10 each.
