HOLIDAY parks have been forced to cancel bookings and close their doors due to the UK lockdown preventing non-essential travel.

Here is everything you need to know about some of the most popular resorts in the UK and when they will reopen.

Butlin’s is to remain closed until March 14, although this date may be extended.

They said in a statement: “Given the uncertainty around a reopening date and the time it takes to get our resorts ready, we’ve made the decision to extend our closure period until 14th March.

“As always, we’ll be in touch via email, SMS or letter to discuss your options.

“We’ll continue to follow the government advice over the coming weeks and update you via our social media channels and website.We thank you for your continued patience and can’t wait to welcome you back this year for some full on family fun.”

With the Butlin’s Book with Confidence Guarantee, guests can get their money back if Butlin’s have to cancel the break, government restrictions don’t allow it to go ahead, or you no longer feel comfortable going.

They also let guests change or move their breaks free of charge up to three days before arrival although if the new break is more expensive then you have to pay the difference.

Center Parcs

Center Parcs is to remain closed until March 7, but may extend this depending on government guidelines.

They said in a statement: “Following recent indications from the Government that restrictions will continue into March we have made the decision to extend the closure of all our UK villages until at least 7 March 2021.

“Our priority continues to be the safety of guests and staff.We will continue to monitor government announcements closely and will be ready to welcome our guests back when the time is right and with all the appropriate measures in place.

“All guests impacted by the closure period will receive an email from us with instructions on how to cancel activities & restaurant reservations and how to reschedule with a discount to the value of £100 or cancel with a full refund.”

Those who book with Centre Parcs get protection if the holiday village has to close, if you’re unwell from Covid, if you’re required to isolate by Test & Trace, if you’re personally impacted by Covid or by related Government restrictions, or you simply change your mind.

You can ask for either a date move or a refund within six weeks of your arrival date. This applies for all arrivals up to and including April 18, 2022.

Haven has not yet issued an official opening date for the parks yet.

They said in a statement: “The safety and security of our holidaymakers, owners and team remains our number one priority and we would ask for your continued support to keep each and every visitor to our parks as safe as possible when staying with us in 2021.

“The situation around the Coronavirus pandemic is constantly changing and Government restrictions will differ across our parks from time to time.

“We will update this page with the latest information on how any government announcements may impact your holiday with us. Please check back here for all of our most recent announcements.”

Haven‘s Coronavirus Guarantee means you’ll get a refund if the park is not able to offer the full experience you booked, including activities, entertainment and facilities, or if the park has to close, the UK Government restricts travel or you can’t travel or don’t feel safe travelling.

Pontins hopes to reopen by the end of March.

Their latest statement explains: “Due to the government’s recent announcement we are incredibly saddened and naturally disappointed to announce that we will be delaying the re-opening of all our holiday parks.

“As always the health and safety of our guests and staff will remain our main priority and these are the actions we unfortunately need to take.

“We are hopeful for better times and we look forward to welcoming you back to our Parks at the end of March 2021.

“Due to the high volume of enquiries and limited resources we will be in touch with anyone effected as soon as we can so please bear with us.

“We would like to thank our guests for their continued support throughout these unprecedented times and we hope to see everyone again very soon.”

UK holidays are already in high demand due to the ban on travel abroad – which has resulted in some selling out already.

Some families have even been put onto waiting lists for holidays to Cornwall this summer due to demand.
