Potentially one of the most fun ways to fundraise, the Macmillan Coffee Morning is back for another year with more celebs partaking in the event.

The charity fundraiser allows people across the UK to host their own coffee morning while donating to the cancer support charity.

The Coffee Morning concept was introduced in 1990 with the aim of groups gathering to sip coffee and nibble on cakes.

Initially, the recommended donation amount was the cost of the cuppa, however, the initiative has since gone on to raise £290 million.

This year’s event is just weeks away, so read on to find out how you can get your hands on the pack needed to participate.

When is the Macmillan Coffee Morning 2021?

The 2021 edition of Macmillan’s Coffee Morning is on Friday, September 24, so it’s the perfect way to celebrate the end of the week, too.

Whether you’re hosting it in the office, with some pals at home, or somewhere larger for a mass meet-up, the event can take place on another day of your choosing.

Simply set up a stall filled with cakes, treats, and, of course, access to copious amounts of coffee.

How you can get your pack and host your own coffee morning

If you want a slice of the action, all you need to do is go to the Macmillan website and sign up to host your own event.

It takes seven to 10 days from registration to receive your kit, so be sure to prep well in advance of your planned hosting date.

In order to care for the environment, Macmillan now gives two kit options – one with bunting, balloons, and a tablecloth, or one without paper or plastic. However, the paper products are recyclable and the balloons are biodegradable.

You can also download a wide range of additional resources such as cake label cards, gift aid forms, direction signs, and DIY bunting.

Last year, the charity’s event raised over £10 million, despite participants being encouraged to host virtual or socially distanced versions of the event. So, once you’ve organised it all, don’t forget to send invites out and encourage friends and family to donate.

All that’s left for you to do is bake up a storm, so why not get some inspiration from our selection of baking inspiration and recipes.
