Countdown’s Rachel Riley is about to have her first baby as her due date grows ever closer.

Rachel, who has been a host on Countdown for ten years, and husband Pasha Kovalev are set to welcome their first child into the world, with Rachel confirming the month that their baby is due on social media earlier this week.

As the countdown until she and Pasha get to meet their new child continues, here’s what we know about when the baby is due.

When is Rachel Riley’s baby due?

The Countdown star confirmed in an Instagram post that she is due to give birth this month.

She captioned a collection of photos by saying: ‘Gratioutous belly shots with thank yous alert!!! December is our baby’s birthday month(!!!), whenever it decides to make an appearance, so taking this last opportunity to thank the generous companies who’ve gifted us such gorgeous bits and bobs for our little one! [sic]

‘We’re very grateful and as with all the gifts we’ve received we’ve made donations to charity to pay it forward and say thank you.

‘This time JK Rowling’s charity to get children out of orphanages and into family homes @wearelumos, and @littlevillagehq for families in London who need help clothing their little ones seemed appropriate.’

As of late November, Rachel, 33, is on maternity leave.

She first announced that she was pregnant in May, again taking to social media to share the happy news.

The presenter shared a very cute photo of herself cradling her stomach in front of the Countdown board, with letters forming an anagram for ‘maternity’ arranged next to her.

In June, Rachel married Pasha in Las Vegas, with the pair having first got together in 2014.

They met when they were partnered on Strictly Come Dancing, and their coupling has been used as an example of the so-called Strictly Curse.

Rachel was previously married to Jamie Gilbert from 2012 until 2013.

The two had met while they were both studying at Oxford University.

Rachel has made headlines recently for other reasons than her baby, as the presenter has been vocal in her opposition to Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn over allegations of Antisemitism in the party.

She sparked major controversy in November for Photoshopping a picture of Jeremy Corbyn in a manner that wiped out an anti-apartheid poster that Corbyn had held at a protest.

She tweeted at the time: ‘I didn’t feel comfortable knowing my workplace was to be full of racists tonight. I don’t endorse Boris, but I do endorse #NeverCorbyn. Please see my pinned thread if you still don’t understand why. #LeadersDebate #LabourAntisemitism.’

In the attached picture, Rachel wore a t-shirt that showed a photo of Corbyn being arrested on an anti-apartheid protest in 1984. However, Rachel’s t-shirt saw Corbyn holding a Photoshopped placard reading: ‘Jeremy Corbyn is a racist endeavour.’
