Many Oasis fans are still holding out hope that Noel and Liam Gallagher will reunite and bring their band back together.

It has been a long time since the two brother’s have been seen performing together, and Liam has said that he still ‘feels the pain’ since their split.

Even though a reunion still seems unlikely, Noel Gallagher has teased that a musical based around their biggest hits could still be possible.

Here is everything that you need to know about when and why the band split up.

When did Oasis split up?

The band officially split in August 2009 following growing tensions between the Gallagher brothers.

There were reports of a fight between the two of them backstage during a performance on 28 August, and their manager then cancelled the groups concert at the Rock en Seine Festival.

Later that day Noel released a statement saying: ‘I quite Oasis tonight.

‘People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer.’

Even ten years since the brothers were last together, there doesn’t seem to be any sign of them reuniting.

Earlier this year Noel accused Liam of sending concerning messages to his daughter Anais.

Liam will also be going on his own tour across the UK in November this year.

The groups final album before their split was Dig Out Your Soul, which can out in 2008 and included the singles I’m Outta Time and Falling Down.
