What to wear to wow on New Year’s Eve

Because if not now, when? Tonight, let your frock be the party, and go all outré in glittering lamé, sequins, sparkles, or all of the above. ​

Crystal belle  

Magpies rejoice: rhinestones are back from the 1980s. You can thank Christopher Kane, whose AW19 collection, from cardigans to minidresses, came trimmed with the shiny stuff. Not your cup of fizz? Dip a toe in with a pair of high-shine earrings (they make your skin look like it’s glowing, too) or crystal embellished heels.

Extra mules 

How to make it past the countdown without digging out the blister plasters? Get yourself a pair of mules, which, thanks to mid heel heights and fewer rubbing points, hit the sweet spot between smart and, actually, pretty comfy. Upgrade to party status via pretty bows and shiny embellishments​.

Bag it up
