Love, marriage and relationships return to the fore on BBC One on Tuesday night as legal drama The Split returns for a second series.

The show, created by writer Abi Morgan (who also gave us the likes of Sex Traffic and The House as well as penning movies The Iron Lady and Shame), centres on a family of female divorce lawyers – and was a hit with viewers when the first series aired in 2018.

Now it’s back for more, kicking off with an episode which unites the whole family in the wake of a death – but what time should you tune in?

Here’s what you need to know about The Split season two.

What time is The Split season 2 on BBC One?

The second season of The Split is on BBC One on Tuesday night at 9pm.

There are six episodes in the second series, with the remaining five due to air for the next five Tuesdays on BBC One at the same time.

Who is in the cast of The Split?

The cast is headed up by Nicola Walker – aka Spooks’ Ruth Evershed – with other cast members including Deborah Findlay, Annabel Scholey, Fiona Button, Stephen Mangan and Damien Molony.

Donna Air also makes an appearance in the new series as a singer and reality star turned client of the law firm.

Mangan recently revealed the impact his character, Nathan – the husband of Walker’s character Hannah – had had on viewers, saying that he got abuse in the street after the character cheated on her in series one.

‘I got a lot of grief because my character started out as a really normal and loyal, fun and maybe slightly boring husband,’ he told Good Morning Britain.

‘And then it was discovered that I was on this list, dating website, like adultery websites and I, had people, lots of people coming up to me on the street saying “how could you cheat on Nicola Walker?”, on Nicola, not the character, people were very very upset with me so I am bracing myself for more abuse.’
