What time does London Marathon 2019 start? Men's, women's and mass race start times


The streets of the capital will be lined with hundreds of thousands of people as the London Marathon takes place this weekend.

Over 40,000 runners will be joined by their friends, family and members of the general public on the sidelines to cheer them on in one of world sport’s feel good events.

Well, feel good until runners get to the 23rd mile and they start to flag, that is!

Those running in the marathon will have to be out of bed nice and early to head to the start point in Blackheath, south east London.

But what time do each of the races begin? Here is all you need to know…

What time does the London Marathon start?

Here are the start times for each of the different races at this year’s London Marathon:

  • 09:05 – Elite Wheelchair Races
  • 09:10 – World Para Athletics Marathon Championships Ambulant Athletes
  • 09:25 – Virgin Money London Marathon for Elite Women
  • 10:10 – Elite Men and the British Athletics and England Athletics Championships for Men and Women and the Virgin Money London Marathon Mass Start

Note that the start times for the Mass Start are staggered over the course of an hour, due to the size of the crowds and those taking part.
