The rising cost of living and soaring fuel prices have left people in the UK searching high and low for the best deals.
There were long queues of drivers at a Tesco petrol station in Cambridgeshire after the price of petrol there dropped to 168.9p – significantly below the national average.
Data from the RAC shows the average price of unleaded is currently 191p per litre.
But which supermarkets are offering the cheapest petrol prices today?
We used Petrol Prices, a website recommended by money-saving expert Martin Lewis, to compare prices across the UK and find where offers the cheapest deals.
Here’s what we found:
All of these prices are correct at the time of writing.
Tesco
If you live in London, you can benefit from the cheapest petrol price we found at the time of writing from Tesco at 185.9 in Waltham Abbey.
Further north in the West Midlands, prices at Tesco were priced at 186.9p per litre in Staffordshire.
Rising further the more we travel north, petrol prices in Manchester at Tescos came in at 188.9p at its cheapest and 193.9p at its most expensive.
Asda
If you shop at Asda, Birmingham, Cannock and Tamworth had the cheapest petrol prices at 185.7p per litre.
Meanwhile, prices rose to 189.9p per litre in Manchester, Durham, and Croydon.
For diesel, the cheapest prices came in at 195.7p, rising to 199.9p.
Sainsbury’s
The Midlands came out on top once again with petrol prices in Wolverhampton coming out at 185.9p at Sainsbury’s.
Bristol and London had the next cheapest price at 186.9p at the time of writing, rising to 187.9p per litre in Manchester.
Further north, prices in Newcastle rose to 188.9p, up to 194.9p in Biddulph, near Stoke-on-Trent.
Morrisons
Like Asda and Sainsburys, the Midlands came out top for cheap petrol once again with Morrisons Small Heath, in Birmingham, priced at 186.7p per litre.
Prices in Oldham, Bolton and St Helens came in at 187.7p, as well as in areas near London such as Queensbury and Borehamwood.
Cornwall also sees lows of 187.7p, rising to 191.9p in Newquay.
