Whilst David Luiz refused to train with Chelsea ahead of deadline day as he looked to force through a move across the capital – and the clubs have reportedly agreed an £8m fee.

Which shirt number will Tierney and Luiz wear?

AFTER a season of transition last term, Arsenal have splashed the cash this summer.

Alongside the incoming Tierney, the club have smashed their transfer record on Nicolas Pepe from Lyon, whilst paying big for youngsters William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli.

Whilst fans are excited to see Real Madrid loanee Dani Ceballos in action after he completed a loan move to the Emirates.

And now Scottish full-back Tierney is set to join the Emery revolution, as the Spaniard looks to turn the Gunners back into a title-challenging force.

While David Luiz – who is currently in his second spell with Chelsea – could yet be the answer to the side’s centre-back woes.

Currently their shirt numbers have not been confirmed by the club.

But with the No.3 shirt available since Kieran Gibbs left in 2018, Tierney will likely fill that gap.

And after Laurent Koscielny controversially left the club for Bordeaux, No.6 is free for Luiz to take if he wishes.
