The Sinnoh Stone is a special evolution item that lets you transform many of the game’s Pokemon into their Gen 4 versions.
The likes of Rhyperior, Magmortar, Electivire, Mismagus, Gliscor, PorygonZ, Honchkrow, Weavile, Roserade, Togekiss, and Dusknoir cannot be caught in the wild like regular pokémon and won’t evolve using just candies – so you need the stone to get catch’em all.
How to get the Sinnoh Stone in Pokemon Go
The method of how to get a Sinnoh Stone still involves completing a seven-day field research breakthrough.
But a new way to get hold of a Sinnoh Stone was shared by reddit user Arik90.
As reported on Eurogamer, Sinnoh Celebration research tasks are a series of limited-time quests in Pokémon Go, which will help you find a Sinnoh Stone and various Gen 4 Pokémon.
These tasks, that will be live in Pokémon Go between Friday 7 February and Monday 10 February, include:
- Catch 5 Kricketot – Combee encounter
- Catch 5 Turtwig, Chimchar or Piplup – 1,000 Stardust
- Hatch 5 eggs – Sinnoh Stone
- Use a Sinnoh Stone to evolve a Pokémon – Cranidos encounter
- Win a raid – Hippopotas encounter
Which Pokemon can you use the Sinnoh Stone on?
You can use the Sinnoh Stone on a choice of 22 Pokémon.
You do need to also use 100 Candy alongside the Sinnoh Stone to evolve them, but here’s the characters you can evolve.
