Guess whose back, back again – It’s none other than the real Slim Shady himself Marshall Mathers, aka Eminem, with a brand new album for 2020.

Two years after the rapper surprised fans when he dropped his album Kamikaze, the 47-year-old star has stunned his supporters once again with another surprise album.

Eminem announced the release of his new album via his Twitter account, sharing the cover artwork along with the comment: ‘It’s your funeral’.

What is Eminem’s Alfred Hitchcock inspired new album called?

Eminem’s new album is called Music To Be Murdered By, a name taken from an album released in 1958 by legendary filmmaker Alfred Hitchcock.

‘Inspired by the master, Uncle Alfred!’ Eminem said of the title via Twitter.

Alfred Hitchcock Presents Music to Be Murdered By was made up of 11 tracks, all of which feature Hitchcock’s voice narrating for the first minute or so of each song. The track then features performer Jeff Alexander singing darker arrangements of well-known tunes from the decade with Hitchcock’s signature spooky style.

Eminem’s new album Music To Be Murdered By features 20 brand new songs from the rapper, many of which include collaborations from other well-known artists.

Anderson Paak, Ed Sheeran, the late Juice Wrld, Royce da 5’9″, Skylar Grey and Q-Tip are just some of the famous names featured on the new album.

To accompany the album drop, Eminem also released the video for the track Darkness, in which recreates scenes from the mass shooting in Las Vegas in 2017 during which 58 people were murdered.

The video ends with a call-out regarding gun violence in America, with the screen reading: ‘When will this end? When enough people care’ before the star urges US citizens to register to vote to change gun laws.

Is Eminem touring in 2020?

While there are no tour dates listed in the Events section of Eminem’s official website and no tour for 2020 has been announced for the American rapper yet, it is fair to speculate that with brand new music to promote and perform, the 47-year-old star may well head out on tour this year.

Until any dates are confirmed, all we can do is hope…
