What happened on Love Island last night? Recap of episode 41 with all the highlights and gossip

AS the latest recoupling showdown commenced, Amber was left torn between Michael or Greg in last night’s exhilarating episode of Love Island.

And after her shock decision, a new challenge put the Islanders to the test in a game that showed just how much each contestant knew their respective partner in the villa – but what else occurred?

What happened in last night’s episode?

After Maura received a text revealing how another recoupling was set to go down, it seemed blatantly obvious that there would be an immense amount of pressure for Amber.

Given that she had formed a connection with Greg – but still had feelings for Michael – she was evidently left torn while trying to make a decision.

Certain Islanders gave their thoughts on the situation, with Belle stressing how Michael had distanced himself from her after Casa Amor week to be with Joanna, but now he wanted to be given a second chance.

The blonde bombshell argued: “He has completely betrayed your trust and picked someone else over you. If I was in your position, I would start something new with someone else.”

Although Amber understood Belle’s point, the beauty therapist couldn’t push past the fact that she’d shared some of her best moments in the villa with her former Island beau, which ultimately made things that much harder for her.

“I feel like I have a great connection with Michael. He makes me happy when I speak to him and I love the conversations that we have.”

Ovie, who was overhearing the conversation, weighed in by saying that he personally felt there was a stronger bond between Amber and Michael than the chemistry she claimed to share with Greg.

And even though Ovie was firm with his words, explaining how one has to bet big if they wanted to win big, Amber still seemed unsure as to who she was going to save from getting the boot from the villa.

Prior to the recoupling showdown, the 21-year-old managed to have another chat with Michael, who made it known – again – that he had to live with the decision he made by choosing Joanna over her.

But he also seized the moment to let it be known that he still liked her before making the gradual attempt to reach in for a kiss.

At that moment, however, Anna received a text, which read: “Can all Islanders gather around the fire pit immediately.”

At the fire pit, Amber acknowledged that the decision she was going to make was not easy – and even as she geared up to say the name of the Islander save from elimination, the bombshell still wasn’t sure who to pick.

Eventually, Amber decided to move forward with Greg, subsequently leaving Michael to couple up with Francesca.

After the latest recoupling was over, the following day saw the Islanders relax in the garden before being told that a challenge was to begin at the fire pit shortly.

Greg’s text read: “Islanders. It’s time to find out how well you really know your other half in today’s couples challenge. #listenup #whenyouknowyouknow”

The guys had to write down answers to questions concerning their girl, and with every question that was answered correctly, they would receive a point and vice versa.

Though Belle and Anton appeared to have gotten very close ever since coupling up together, the gym owner embarrassingly thought that the name of Belle’s father was Tarem instead of Tamer.

In the Beach Hut with the blonde beauty, Anton joked about the mishap, saying: “Me and your Dad are going to get on…as soon as I get his name right!”

Elsewhere, it was Jordan gushing about having slept with more than 100 women that left several Islanders stunned – including Anna.

“I’m not very happy about this but it’s somewhere above 100,” she said.

In the end, it was Molly-Mae and Tommy who won the challenge by answering each and every single question correctly, proving that the two know each other better than one would have thought.

What days in the week is Love Island on ITV2?

You can get your fix of the show every night on ITV2 at 9pm where the main programme, hilariously narrated by Iain Stirling, gives you the lowdown on all the goings-on in the villa – from couples cracking on to singletons getting mugged off.

Saturday night’s show differs from the rest of the week, as it is a round-up of all the best bits from the villa that week – and maybe some unseen footage.

If that’s not enough, you can also watch Caroline Flack‘s spin off show Aftersun on Sunday nights at 10pm after the main show has aired, where she discusses the latest action with celebrity guests, as well as those eliminated from the villa.

Francesca Allen delivers hilarious speech as she has no other option to couple up with Michael Griffiths on Love Island
