What free PlayStation 4 games are available now?

From multiplayer shooters to fighting games, there’s a great selection of PS4 games you can play for free right now.

It’s easy to overlook the free-to-play games in favour of new PlayStation 4 releases, but there are a few hidden gems which are worth checking out before digging into your pockets.

What free PlayStation 4 games are there?

Fortnite Battle Royale is the first port-of-call when it comes to free games, although it’s unlikely the multiplayer game requires much introduction.

Other top picks include Apex Legends, which sits somewhere between Overwatch and a traditional battle royale title. Over 50 million players downloaded it during its first month – a testament to its quality.

Platform fighter game Brawlhalla is also worth a look in, where you can choose from a roster of over 40 legends, and play with up to eight friends.

The PlayStation 4’s collection of free games is separate to the selection of free PS Plus titles made available to subscribers of Sony’s multiplayer service.

PS Plus subscribers can access an array of games for free, with new bundles dropping every month.

This month’s offering includes the Sims 4, Bioshock, and Firewall Zero Hour.

PS Plus membership costs £49.99 per year, or £6.99 if you would rather play monthly.
