What 'determined' Ousmane Dembele is doing to ensure he's fit to face Man Utd

Ousmane Dembele is a man on a mission and is ‘determined’ to face Manchester United in the Champions League, according to a report from AS .

The Barcelona forward was initially ruled out for up to a month with a hamstring injury sustained earlier in March, and was expected to miss the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final on April 10.

But while most of his teammates have been away on international duty, France World Cup winner Dembele has been at Barcelona’s Joan Gamper training ground undergoing intense sessions.

The AS report states that the former Borussia Dortmund attacker was the only first-team player to attend training every day last week.

Of the first-team squad, only Dembele, Luis Suarez and Rafinha aren’t away with their national teams during this international break.

And while Suarez and Rafinha each took at least a day off, Dembele – who has often been criticised for an apparent bad attitude to training – turned up every single day.

The report adds that the Frenchman – who is a favourite of Barca boss Ernesto Valverde – wants to be in a position to test out his troublesome hamstring in the league game with Atletico Madrid on April 6.

Then, should all be well, he’ll be ready to take on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side at Old Trafford four days later.
