Westlife: Band to perform HUGE stadium concert as they drop long-awaited news


The Queen of my Heart singers shared a video of themselves clearly struggling to hide their excitement over their upcoming stadium tour last night, before revealing the official news and date today. They teased the news to their Irish fans on their official Twitter page yesterday, prompting a flurry of speculation from potential attendees. In view of their 315,000 followers, Shane Filan, Mark Feehily, Kian Egan and Nicky Byrne bounced up and down after a successful gig at London’s Hyde Park festival, promising the “exciting” reveal. The band’s page then announced today: “We’re over the moon to announce we’re going to be playing Páirc Uí Chaoimh in Cork for the first time ever next year!

“We can’t wait to bring this show to Ireland which will be more spectacular than anything we’ve ever done before.”

“Tickets go on sale Friday 20th September at 9am,” the post finished.

Kian then added: “Ireland. Get ready. Our only Irish summer show will be in Cork in 2020! It’s gonna be incredible. #westlife #dreamscomingtrue.”

Flocking to the comments last night, there was a mixture of reactions to the impending news.

Some fans had already figured out the announcement, while others were concerned for their pursestrings.

And some even hoped the band would reveal Brian was actually going to be joining them on tour next year.

“Is Brian coming back??” one fan asked.

“Westlife. thank you westlife,” another simply thanked.

A third joked: “Oh I wonder what that could be #Cork2020.”

While a fourth enthused: “See u at the park in the morning Pairc Ui Chaoimh.”

“Ohhhhhhhhh I’m excited xx,” a fifth added.

And following the announcement, a sixth worried: “Wow you’re really going for it guys but when are u announcing arena tours? I really hope you are or there’s gonna be a lot of disappointed ppl around!”

“Woow what a fantastic news ever more proud of you and happy for this new goal is impressive after 20 years, this is satisfaction for you and I wish you all the goals you have not reached yet,” another fan shared.

Westlife’s tour kicks off next year.

Their only summer concert in Ireland takes place in Cork.
