West Ham vs Liverpool LIVE: Latest score, goals and updates from Premier League fixture tonight

Follow live updates from the Premier League tonight as Liverpool travel to West Ham looking to extend their lead at the top of the table to a frankly ridiculous 12 points.

Expect Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp to recall his senior players after making 11 changes for the draw at Shrewsbury in the FA Cup last weekend.

West Ham will meanwhile hand late fitness tests to Lukasz Fabianski and Robert Snodgrass as they attempt to claw their way out of danger. The Hammers are currently level on points with Bournemouth and Watford and are only outside the relegation zone on goal difference. Follow live updates below:

West Ham 0-2 Liverpool

61′ – Brilliant from Firmino – to a point. Beats the offside trap, darts past Masuaku, cuts back inside another defender…then tries a left-footed shot which he actually clips away toward the corner flag.

West Ham 0-2 Liverpool

58′ – Liverpool content to sit a little deeper now and invite West Ham on, looking to exploit the gaps on the counter. A reminder that if the home side lose by four, they’ll be in the bottom three – something they’ll want to avoid at all costs.

West Ham 0-2 Liverpool

54′ – Snodgrass has a great chance to get West Ham straight back in the game – but Alisson makes a fine one-handed stop. Wijnaldum with a poor pass across goal there to gift West Ham the chance.

GOAL!

GOAL! West Ham 0-2 Liverpool

51′ – Like lightning! West Ham have a corner, Van Dijk heads it clear, Salah beats two and switches play to Oxlade-Chamberlain, he surges clear past the last defender and beats Fabianski with a fine low finish. 2-0 to the Reds and it’s a long road back now for the Hammers.

West Ham 0-1 Liverpool

50′ – What a save from Fabianski! A cut-back from Robertson is deflected into the path of Firmino and he turns to shoot first-time – but the ‘keeper makes a fantastic reaction save to tip it wide.

West Ham 0-1 Liverpool

48′ – Positive start from West Ham. Nice build-up play, runners into the box and Rice plays it to Lanzini – whose shot only rolls at Alisson.

KICK OFF

Second half time – we are back underway.

HALF TIME

Half time

West Ham 0-1 Liverpool

Reasonably routine for the table-toppers in that half, though it has taken a penalty to break through the massed ranks in the West Ham defence. Salah’s goal the difference at the interval, his 16th of the season in all competitions.

Two minutes added on.

West Ham 0-1 Liverpool

44′ – Salah hits the wall with his shot from the free-kick, and from the rebound, and then with a third attempt to dribble through. Fast approaching half-time.

YELLOW CARD

West Ham 0-1 Liverpool

41′ – Oxlade-Chamberlain takes the ball from Henderson and shoots, but it’s wide by some distance. Noble then flies into a challenge on Origi and wins the ball, but goes in rather dangerously with one boot high on the shin. Yellow card for Noble.

West Ham 0-1 Liverpool

37′ – Decent response from West Ham to falling behind. Noble rolls a poor shot wide, then Snodgrass searches out Haller with a looping cross, but Alisson deals with it at the second attempt.

GOAL!

GOAL! West Ham 0-1 Liverpool

34′ – Mo Salah steps up and lashes it bottom corner – Liverpool ahead!

YELLOW CARD

West Ham 0-0 Liverpool

33′ – Penalty to Liverpool! Firmino twists in the box, feeds Origi centrally and Diop swipes his legs away – clear foul. Yellow card for the defender, too.

West Ham 0-0 Liverpool

30′ – Robertson rolls a great cross along the six-yard box, but neither Origi nor Salah can reach the ball to prod home. At the other end, Rice feeds Ngakia but his cross is cleared by Gomez.

West Ham 0-0 Liverpool

27′ – West Ham working hard to deny Liverpool space to work in. There’s lots of possession, but not many shooting chances so far.

West Ham 0-0 Liverpool

22′ – Salah and Firmino try to bludgeon their way through but the West Ham defence stands firm. Salah then threads one through for Robertson on the diagonal and he dinks it past Fabianski…but it just doesn’t quite have enough pace on the shot to trickle over the line and Ogbonna races back to clear, one yard from goal.

West Ham 0-0 Liverpool

18′ – John Moss gets himself in the way of a Liverpool counter, frustrating Alexander-Arnold’s attempts to burst forward. West Ham have grown into the game over the last five minutes and are looking to get the wing-backs forward. Ngakia crosses from the right but it’s straight at Alisson.

West Ham 0-0 Liverpool

15′ – Haller runs in behind the defence but Gomez makes a great recovery run. Lanzini then tries to sneak onto the end of a cross from the left, but he’s offside and pokes it wide anyway.

West Ham 0-0 Liverpool

12′ – Good tracking back by Oxlade-Chamberlain, making his 50th league appearance for the club tonight, to stop a West Ham counter-attack. Infrequent breakaways for the home team is the extent of their intent so far.

Match preview:

When is it?

The match kicks off at 7.45pm on Wednesday 29 January 2020.

How can I watch it?

Unfortunately, the match will not be broadcast live, due to Manchester City taking on Manchester United in the second-leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final at the same time.

Team news

West Ham are hampered by a lengthy injury list with Lukasz Fabianski, Felipe Anderson, Ryan Fredericks, Andriy Yarmolenko and Jack Wilshere all ruled out, while Robert Snodgrass and Arthur Masuaku are both doubts.

Mark Noble, Michail Antonio and Angelo Ogbonna are expected to return to the starting line-up after being rested for the Hammers’ FA Cup defeat by West Brom.

Liverpool remain without Sadio Mane as the winger recovers from a hamstring injury. James Milner and Nathaniel Clyne remain sidelined, however, Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Fabinho are all available for selection once again.

Predicted line-ups

West Ham: Randolph; Zabaleta, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Masuaku; Lanzini, Rice, Noble; Antonio, Haller

Liverpool: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Gomez, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Wijnaldum; Salah, Firmino, Origi
