West Ham eyeing Ryan Fraser transfer as Bournemouth star's contract runs down

West Ham are keen on a move for Ryan Fraser this summer.

The 25-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and is being chased by a number of clubs who see him as a bargain.

Bournemouth star Fraser fits the profile of the younger, more mobile player that David Moyes wants to bring to the London Stadium.

He has been linked with moves to Arsenal and Liverpool with his contract running down.

But new Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is expected to make defence a priority this summer while Liverpool distanced themselves from talk of a move earlier this season.

Fraser was one of the standout performers in the top-flight during 2018-19, providing 14 assists from the wing, second only to Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.

This season he has been nowhere near as prolific, with just one goal and three assists as Bournemouth fight against relegation.

But Fraser has remained popular and is set to have no shortage of admirers when the campaign comes to an end.

Cherries boss Eddie Howe admitted in November that the Scot is keeping his options open.

“In terms of his contract, that’s obviously for him to decide what he wants to do with his future,” Howe said.

“We would love him to stay and commit to us but, if not, we need to get the best out of him between now and the end of the season.

“We’ve had conversations with Ryan to try and persuade him to stay but, at the moment, he’s keeping his options open.”
