TODAY I help deliver a Mother’s Day thank you to a mum in a million.
Stevie Kay, 23, has suffered several major illnesses, including meningitis.
She has been left paralysed from the chest down and needs round-the-clock care from her mum, Jill.
Stevie, from Ashington, near Newcastle upon Tyne, wanted to show her appreciation for all the help she receives at home.
So I travelled to the North East to surprise Jill with a selection of gifts chosen by Stevie — including her favourite perfume and a special work of art — as part of our Star Savers series.
It is safe to say that Jill was very happy, if a little shocked.

I’ve got Boots and Superdrug cards and I make sure I take advantage of the free Greggs treat given out on my birthday. I’ve learned that if you collect Subway points and then give feedback on a store visit, it will sometimes offer you a free cookie.

‘The park was so well-organised and everyone went out of their way to give us a great holiday’
SHARING the stage with Greedy the Gorilla, Kaylie Devlin and her six-year-old daughter Millie couldn’t stop smiling on their first ever fun-filled Sun Holiday.
Full-time mum Kaylie, 29, and her partner James Munroe, 31, treated Millie and her three-year old sister Gracie to a four-night stay at Haven’s Blue Dolphin Holiday Park in Filey, North Yorks.

Kaylie, from Seaham, County Durham, was astounded to see Millie throwing herself into all the activities at the park.
She says: “Millie can be quite shy, but at the evening show with the costumed characters she got taken up on stage to do a challenge with a hoop. She won a certificate, sticker and T-shirt.
“Next morning we were in the swimming pool and Millie was a bit nervous about trying the waterslide. Gracie was all for it and, when Millie saw the massive smile on her face, of course she couldn’t be outdone by her little sister.
“She hadn’t even hit the water at the end, when she screamed, ‘I love it!’”
The family of four stayed in a three-bedroom caravan, which was large enough to sleep six.
And Kaylie was delighted to find it so spacious and well equipped. She added: “The park wasn’t too spread out and everything was so clean and well-organised, and staff were brilliant.
“Everyone went out of their way to make sure all the guests had a fantastic holiday.”
In the evenings, the four ate in the restaurant, where the fish and chips proved the family’s favourite and among the best they had ever had.
She and delivery firm supervisor James are now looking at this year’s Sun Holidays.
