Former escort Helen Wood has claimed footballer Wayne Rooney was close to tears following a night of sex a decade ago.
Wood is planning to reveal all about her highly-publicised night with the sportsman, claiming she was hired by Rooney in 2009 when his wife Coleen was five-months-pregnant with their first son, Kai.
She claimed she was paid £1,000 for sex with Rooney at the five-star Lowry Hotel in Manchester, alleging the footballer felt immediate remorse following the encounter.
‘I will never forget the look on Wayne’s face as we were lying in bed together. The colour drained from him and he was close to crying,’ she told The Mail On Sunday in the leadup to the release of her memoir, A Man’s World, next month.
‘After we had sex he brought up the fact that he was going to become a dad soon. I asked him if he was all right, and he replied, “I don’t know why I’ve just done that”.’
The 32-year-old, who is no longer an escort, claimed their encounter lasted ‘12 minutes’ and that ever since she’s been unable to shake the notoriety of being associated with Rooney.
It was alleged she engaged in a threesome alongside fellow escort Jenny Thompson and that after it was her friend that went to the press, after claiming she told Rooney she, too, had a son and that their encounter ‘couldn’t get out’.
According to The Sun, her book may shake the foundations of other men who Wood alleges to have had sex with during her time as an escort.
‘This book will make for very uncomfortable reading — not just for Wayne and Coleen but also for others,’ a source said, amid claims fellow footballer Rio Ferdinand had some critical words for Rooney following the allegation.
‘People who were Helen’s clients when she was a call girl will be quaking in their boots.’
But it was her encounter with Rooney that appeared to be taking pride of place, with the publication claiming he ‘cried’ while showing Wood a scan of his unborn son.
‘She says he cried in an ensuite bathroom as he showed her the scan,’ the source said. ‘Helen says he was wracked with guilt. He cried, as he realised the enormity of what he was doing. He begged her not to tell.’
According to pals the tell-all will put ‘more pressure’ on the family, following the Washington DC footballer’s drink driving charge in 2017, as well as past alleged infidelities.
A pal of Coleen’s said: ‘She’s always been worried about whether there was more to come out about Wayne’s behaviour.’
In 2010 claims emerged Thompson had introduced Rooney and Wood – who won Big Brother in 2014 – and the three had sex the year prior.
That year Helen apologised to Coleen while speaking out in the press, saying: ‘I wish this had never happened.’
She added to Coleen – who is mother to Wayne’s four sons: ‘I’m so sorry for all the hurt that you’ve been put through. It was a mistake. I can’t apologise enough. I’m sorry.’
