What will happen in Watchmen episode 8?

The brand new episode of Watchmen is expected to be released on HBO on Sunday, December 8.

This will then be simulcast for viewers in the UK on Sky Atlantic as well as being made available on NOW TV.

After bashing his head in to remove the chip limiting his power, Manhattan’s true powers were finally unleashed once again.

A promo for the new episode of the HBO series shows it will be a deep dive into their past.

The short promo video opens on Manhattan as he slowly lifts his iconic blue mask up to his face, giving viewers their first hint at what this iteration will look like.

However, the main focus of the short trailer was the romance between Angela and Manhattan – and how it all begin.

What this danger actually is has not yet been revealed yet but with just two episodes left, things look set to explode.

One potential hint came in episode seven when Manhattan’s former flame Laurie Blake (Jean Smart) was taken prisoner by the Seventh Kalvary.

They told her their plan to capture Manhattan, cage him in their specially built structure and take his power.

At the same time, the series is likely to pick up on Lady Trieu’s (Hong Chau) Millennium Clock plan, which she is building to save the world in an as yet unknown way.

As well as this, Adrian Veidt (Jeremy Irons) is likely to also be back for another outing in this episode as viewers find out what happens to him.

This follows the reveal about how he is also actually operating on a different timeline to the rest of the story.

While the story in Oklahoma has been following just a few weeks, viewers have been picking up with Veidt after a year time-jump in each episode.

These two timelines are set to collide in the final two episodes – but what will be the result?

Watchmen episode 7 is released on HBO on December 1 and on Sky Atlantic on December 2.
