Watch Sir Alex Ferguson's hilarious reaction to Gary Neville miss in Bayern legends game

Manchester United won the game 5-0 but Neville managed to miss the opportunity to get himself on the scoresheet with a shocker of an effort.

At 2-0 up midway through the second half, Gary Neville managed to collect the ball in side the area thanks to a neat pass from a nearby team-mate.

But as Neville progressed further towards goal, the lack of confidence in scoring was evident.

The eight-time Premier League winner rifled a shot towards the far corner that looked destined to bulge the net.

But Neville’s shot went wide. And by some distance.

The right-back fell to the floor in frustration as the camera panned to Ferguson, who couldn’t contain his laughter in the manager’s seat.

His assistant Steve McClaren clasped his head in his hands as Fergie continued to smirk at his former player’s miss.

The blunder didn’t stop Neville from speaking after the fame about Manchester United foundation, as well as how unfit he and his team-mates were today.

“We’re finished physically to be honest with you, you watch the lads in the Premier League and they’re amazing,” he told BT Sport.

“I watch them every week and you feel how far you are away.

“My mind knows what to do but my body isn’t taking me there and that’s why we’re all retired.

“It’s brilliant to be out here, we’ve raised a lot of money for United’s foundation, they do a lot of work with young kids who need an opportunity in life and that’s the most important thing.

“It was worth coming just to be in the changing room pre-match.

“I was happy with the goal at the end for David [Beckham] and Nicky’s [Butt] goal too.”
