A Scottish hen party have been causing quite a stir in Barcelona – and it’s all down to their love for singer Gerry Cinnamon.
The group of girls from Aberdeen were in the Spanish city over the weekend when they realised no one had heard of his hit song Belter.
So the hen party, led by bridesmaid Heather Donald, set about requesting the song by the Glasgow singer in as many Barcelona bars as possible while getting people to shout ‘she’s a belter’ on video.
In the funny clip, which was shared on social media, the girls kick off the #TheBelterChallenge by getting as many people to sing the lyrics as possible.
The video shows bar staff and punters chanting the lyrics.
Bride-to-be Samantha Low and her fiancé Lewis Johnston are big Gerry Cinnamon fans and were delighted when the viral video was seen by Gerry himself.
The 27-year-old from Aberdeen said: “My fiancé had decided to try and get tickets for Gerry Cinnamon’s Glasgow show but some of us couldn’t get them, so we decided to bring it to my Henny and try our best to get Gerry to show up at our wedding in Forfar .
“We all love Belter and were singing it all weekend when we realised no one in Barcelona had heard of it. So we started requesting it in various bars and decided to make clips of everyone saying “she’s a belter” for a laugh, it was so funny.
“We are all buzzing that Gerry has seen it and hope that #TheBelterChallenge catches on because this song needs to go further than the UK.”
The Glasgow singer has replied to the video on Instagram, and the girls hope he’ll agree to a guest appearance at the couple’s wedding.
