When it comes to air travel, it can be a struggle for some passengers to pack all of their hand luggage into the designated allowance. Though hand luggage restrictions may be a headache, these luggage allowances are in place to ensure everything fits in the overhead lockers.
Luckily, one of his fellow fliers flags the attention of a cabin crew member onboard.
The female flight attendant makes her way over, and appears to calmly explain a simple solution.
she can be seen making hand gestures to explain the ideal way to slot a suitcase into an already stuffed overhead compartment.
Indeed, it seems all the passenger must do is simply turn the bag onto its side.
Passengers can be seen laughing at how simple the man’s complications were solved.
The cabin crew member was applauded by the Instagram account, which captioned the footage saying: “In honour of all the crews out there currently flying the friendly skies during these crazy times!
“As some of you may know, I am a FORMER flight attendant. When I was working, this Tetris made me want to rip my own head off multiple times a day.
“I bow down to the heroes still out there doing it with a smile; a ton of patience, while wearing a mask all day .”
However, having amassed 1,853 comments at the time of writing, it seems the man’s inability to see the solution has spurred frustration amongst some.
One passenger said: “How some people make it to adulthood is amazing.”
Another commented: “What was he going to do?? Just keep shoving until someone else’s bag was pushed through the other side of the aircraft? Or was he being deliberately dumb? Thank you to all flight professionals for dealing with this cr*p.”
A third commended the flight attendant’s professionalism, saying: “I don’t know how she kept her cool”.
Others made light of the situation.
One viewer wrote: “I’d love to see his parking.”
Airline workers were also quick to add their perspective.
One mechanic wrote: “As a mechanic, every time I see an overhead bin door broken I can’t help but wonder if it’s from some genius like this…”
A flight attendant also added: “I’m a United flight attendant…appreciate your funny posts and bringing humour AND AWARENESS to our work.”
