DECLAN RICE may be having nightmares about returning for a gruelling pre-season ahead of the new campaign.
That is because the young West Ham midfielder woke up with a terrifying scream when disturbed during his sleep by Chelsea’s Mason Mount.
The pair, who are mates from during their academy time at Chelsea, are currently enjoying some well deserved down time in Dubai before the hard work gets underway.
Mount, who spent last season on loan at Derby, took to Instagram to share a snippet of their trip as they enjoyed a boat ride on the crystal clear waters.
The 20-year-old recorded a video of Rice pulling out some terrible dance moves along with the caption: “His new celebration…?”
Then while Rice was enjoying a snooze in the shade, Mount scared the living daylights out of him.
He shouted in his face leaving the fellow 20-year-old waking up in a sheer panic.
Rice instantly screamed and then produced another terrifying yelp before coming to the realisation that it was all a prank.
Fans on social media found it hilarious and were quick to crack jokes.
One said: “Dude was having a nightmare. Nightmare like he was on the verge of signing for Arsenal.”
Another added: “Declan realising he has to go back to playing for Ireland.”
Rice will remain a West Ham player this summer after Manchester United dropped their interest in the England international.
The Red Devils contacted the Hammers about a potential deal but were quickly shut down by their Premier League rivals.
