NATIONAL Geographic have named Wales as one of the most exciting destinations to visit in 2020.
The Wales Way, three new tour routes throughout the country, made the list.

The travel magazine has revealed their top 25 places to visit next year on their Best Trips list when it comes to important events, sustainability and new attractions.
The only UK winner was the Wales Way which is made up of three routes – the 185-mile Cambrian Way, the 180 mile Coastal Way and the North Wales Way stretching 75 miles.
The driving routes are the best way to showcase the “legend-filled land” according to National Geographic with the Isle of Anglesey and Cardigan Bay along the way.
Adventure lovers are also advised to head to Wales next year, with inland surfing and coasteering popular activities.

The list also featured a number of European locations to add to the list.
Two locations in Spain are popular destinations next year – the Canary Islands are one of the best to visit next year with it’s vast terrain which was once considered “the westernmost point of land in the known world” while Asturias is perfect for hills, beaches, as well as cheese and cider.
Parma in Italy is good for foodies too with Parma ham and balsamic vinegar on the menu.
Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina also featured on the list, celebrating 25 years of pace next year following the Bosnian War, as did Poland’s UNESCO World Heritage site Białowieża Forest, Egypt’s Abu Simbel temples and Turkey’s Abu Simbel ruins.
