Is there anything better than a Wagamama katsu curry?

The nation adores the dish so much that, during lockdown 1.0, the Japanese-inspired food chain released the secret recipe for people to recreate at home.

But now you can enjoy the curry without the faff of having to make it from scratch.

That’s because Wagamama has launched its own supermarket line, consisting of meal kits, sauces and pastes.

Meal kits, priced at £3.30, include classics such as katsu curry, chicken ramen and pad thai. It’s worth pointing out that each one comes with the core ingredients, but you’ll need to get the meat and veggies to complete the plate.

For example, the katsu curry kit includes soy sauce and spices, panko breadcrumbs and salad dressing.

Whereas the chicken ramen pack features noodles, chicken stock, sesame seeds and wakame seaweed.

Customers will also find stir fry sauces on supermarket shelves, for £1.15 each, in firecracker, teriyaki, and pad thai flavours.

But the goodies don’t stop there.

Katsu curry and raisukaree pastes are also available for £2.25 each.

All of these delights can be found in Waitrose from today – but Morrisons, Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Ocado will also stock them later this month.

Profits from the sales of this supermarket line will be donated to the restaurant’s charity partner YoungMinds.

Wagamama CEO, Thomas Heier, said: ‘After seeing so many of our guests benefit from cooking along with Steve during the lockdown, we were inspired.

‘We wanted to make it easier for our guests to enjoy the mental and physical benefits of cooking, long after lockdown.’
